Robert L. Lindstrom

Rich media communication in business is no longer solely the concern of the media production, advertising and corporate communications departments. In a media-rich world, the entire organization must be media literate. In a media-savvy organization everyone is responsible for the effective development and use of media in support of the corporate mission. The organization that fails to develop a media communication culture and fails to leverage its media assets has no future in the 21st century business environment.

Robert L. Lindstrom, president of C60 Communications, is an award-winning journalist, magazine editor, author and consultant specializing in the theory and application of rich-media technologies in business communications.

He is the author of the best-selling book, The Business Week Guide to Multimedia Presentations, and the e-book Being Visual: A guide to the rich-media revolution in business communications. He is also co-author of Being Spherical: Reshaping our lives and our organizations for the 21st century. www.sphericity.com

Robert is the former editor of Multimedia Producer magazine and former executive editor of AV Video Multimedia Producer. For three years he was editor-in-chief of Presentations magazine and was vice president, editorial director of E-Biz, Inc. For two years he served on the board of directors of the International Association of Presentation Professionals and currently sits on the ICIA Presentations Council.

His journalism awards include the prestigious Los Angeles Press Club Award for Business Reporting, the New York Art Director's Club award for feature design and the Corwin Award for Literature. He was named two consecutive years as one of "The Rising Stars in High Technology" by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

In 1998, Robert co-founded the Digital Exploration Society (DEX), a non-profit organization that pioneers and promotes the use of mobile multimedia in natural locations. DEX is dedicated to exploring new approaches to education, community and environmental sustainability through the creative deployment of emerging technologies. www.digitalexplorers.org

Robert approaches both business and technology with Henry David Thoreau's admonition clearly in mind: We must be careful lest we become the tools of our tools.
